Magazine Advert - Why?

The Image - I chose to use the front cover of album digipak as the dominant image on the magazine advert. I did this because I wanted the audience to be able to identify the album digipak because they had seen the magazine advert. I thought it was important to create a continuity between the two ancillary tasks to ensure the audience would link the two together.

Photoshop - To create these two magazine adverts I used Photshop. There was no main tool that I used as I did not need to edit the main image, all I needed to do was add text. I used the Polygonal Lasso tool to cut out the stars from their white background and insert them onto my advert.

The Text - The two reviews that I put onto the portrait advert and the three that I put onto the landscape advert were in the same colour text as the album title. I did this because I wanted to keep a continuity between the digipak and the advert. As the artists lips had been edited to match the album title, I wanted to have the reviews in the same colour as the title. I also used a white font for the 'Out Now! available at iTunes' text so that it would match the artists name on the digipak. I think that because I have created a continuity between the two products, this has made it look very professional and realistic.
